Anton Schaefer (STO)

Starfleet Captain Anton Schaefer commanded a Malachowski class ship that was assigned as a training vessel at Starfleet Academy in 2256. Schaefer, who was of Australian heritage, had an easygoing manner and once joked about assigning one of his cadets as a bilge officer.[1] Mere hours into the training cruise, the ship was lured into an attack by Klingon forces led by J'Ula, the matriarch of House Mo'Kai, and Schaefer was taken captive and killed.[2] Schaefer once served aboard the U.S.S. Endeavour with Thy'kir Shran.[3] Captain Durant considered Schaefer to be "the best of us."[4]
