Zarva graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2409. She was chosen to serve as chief engineer for her cadet training cruise aboard a Miranda class vessel commanded by Captain Masc Taggart.[1] When the ship came under attack by the Klingon vessel I.K.S. Chot,[2] Zarva faced the daunting task of getting the ship repaired in time to engage in combat with the Klingons.[3]
