Corrigan was a lieutenant in the sciences division of Starfleet who attended Starfleet Academy with James T. Kirk. On Stardate 2947.3, he was present at Starbase 11 when Kirk was accused of negligence in the death of Lieutenant Commander Ben Finney, who had been an instructor of theirs at the Academy. Believing that Kirk was guilty, Corrigan refused to speak with Kirk.[2]
