The Federation Starship Marlborough was a Larson class destroyer commissioned on Reference Stardate 1/9702 (February 2197). The Marlborough was refit to Mark II specifications on RSD2/0005 (June 2200), giving it more powerful phasers and an additional torpedo launcher. On RSD2/1207 (July 2212), the ship was refit again to the Mark VI configuration. As of RSD2/2306 (June 2223), the Marlborough was still in active service.[1] The Marlborough left service some time prior to RSD2/9306 (June 2293), when the Wellington class light cruiser U.S.S. Marlborough NCC-50012 was commissioned.[2]
