Construction on the Federation Starship Saladin, the lead vessel of the Saladin class destroyer, was authorized by the Star Fleet Appropriation of Stardate 0965[1] and commissioned in 2185.[2] The Saladin was no longer in service by RSD1/9507 (July 2195), when it was succeeded by the Larson class destroyer U.S.S. Saladin NCC-4368; the Saladin was presumably destroyed during the Four Years War.[3]
