The Zeus class was created on Reference Stardate 0/7608 (April 2103) when the DY-500 class was heavily upgraded and converted into an automated, unmanned, and warp-capable cargo vessel.[1][2]
On Reference Stardate 0/9807.27 (27 January 2147), an unescorted group of six Zeus class transports was attacked while traveling in Sector 7C, near the Romulan Star Empire, which was still unknown to the United Earth Republic. All six were crippled, and most of the tritanium carried aboard them was missing when the ships were finally located.[2]
The Zeus class was removed from service in 2157.[2]
