- RSD 2/8712.17 (17 December): The Denebian Swan of Merit is awarded to Ensign Nathaniel Zar III, of the U.S.S. Thor. After his superiors were killed in an unprovoked attack by unknown hostile aliens (which were later found to have been Ferengi), Ensign Zar singlehandedly prevented the loss of Denebian mercantile goods of considerable commercial value.[1]
