U.S.S. Republic NCC-1753 (FASA)

Constitution class refit (Star Trek II)

The Constitution class Starship Republic was commissioned on Reference Stardate 2/1904 (January 2278),[Notes 1] following the disappearance of the U.S.S. Republic NCC-1371 on Reference Stardate 2/0808 (August 2266).[1] Shari Shranim served aboard the Republic during her first year of service.[2] On Reference Stardate 2/2107.08[3] (8 July 2284), the Republic, commanded by Fleet Captain Sufik, led the fleet for Operation Tactical Encounters XXVI, a major Starfleet exercise intended to field-test new tactical formations.[4] The Republic was refit to Mark III specifications on Reference Stardate 2/2511 (November 2288), and to Mark IV specifications on Reference Stardate 2/3710 (October 2300). On Reference Stardate 2/5512 (December 2318), the Republic was scrapped.[5]

  1. ↑ Star Trek: The Roleplaying Game used a unique dating system, the Reference Stardate, in an attempt to reconcile Earth calendar dates and Stardates. The calendar used by the game, however, was the Spaceflight Chronology, which does not easily line up with the later-published Star Trek Chronology or stories based upon that calendar.
