Rand

On Stardate 1531.1, Lieutenant Rand,[1] manned the helm station aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 during the incident on planet M-113[2] as well as the mission to Psi 2000 on Stardate 1704.2 after Lieutenant Sulu was infected with an unknown disease.[3]

- ↑ Lieutenant Rand's name and rank were given in the script for "The Man Trap" as Lieutenant Ryan, but were not spoken in dialogue;t he appeared again in "The Naked Time" and was referred to in dialogue as Rand. Additionally, although the script for "The Man Trap" named him as a lieutenant, he had no rank insignia, which would otherwise indicate that he was an ensign.
