Myriad Universes: Andrei Chekov
Andrei[1] Mikhailovich Chekov[2] was married to Catherine (Rykova) Chekov,[3] and they had a single child,[4] Pavel Chekov. Chekov was killed in a traffic accident in the Moscow-Kamchatka traffic corridor that resulted in more than three hundred deaths. Due to his Star Fleet service, Pavel was unable to attend his father's funeral, as he was off-world aboard the U.S.S. Nelson NCC-1843.[3]

- ↑ Although Star Trek II Biographies stated that the elder Chekov's name was Aleksei Mikhailovich Chekov, the episode "The Way to Eden" established that Pavel Chekov's full name was Pavel Andreievich Chekov. Slavic naming conventions mean that the second name, in this case Andreievich, is adapted from the name of the individual's parent; e.g. "son of Andrei."
