Reger was one of the rare Betans who was resistant to being absorbed into the Body of Landru. He was an associate of Tamar and Hacom, and the father of Tula. In 2267, he was a member of a three-person resistance cell, but for security only knew the identity of one other member, Tamar. When a landing party from the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 came to Beta III on Stardate 3156.2 to investigate the disappearance of the U.S.S. Archon NCC-189, Reger was with Tamar and Hacom, and they quickly determined that they were outsiders. Reger and Tamar sought to hide and protect the landing party, believing that a prophecy that others would follow the Archons was about to be fulfilled, but Hacom brought the Lawgivers to seize them at his earliest opportunity. In the ensuing confrontation, Tamar—who had made an ill-advised joke about the Lawgivers—was killed, and Reger led the landing party to safety. They were eventually captured, however, but that led them to the third member of the resistance cell, Marplon, and the overthrow of Landru's control.[1]
