Baruch Spinoza, whose name was anglicized as Benedict de Spinoza, was a 17th Century Dutch philosopher.[1] While reading through the Enterprise computer, Gary Mitchell referred to "The Ethics," written by Spinoza, as "long-hair stuff." Mitchell said that he found the work to be "simple … Childish, almost," and said that he didn't agree with Spinoza "at all."[2]
