The Gorn were a reptilian race. On Stardate 3045.6, the Gorn destroyed a colony on Cestus III, which they believed had encroached on their space. The conflict was forcefully resolved by the Metrons, who intervened and forced personal combat between a Gorn captain and Captain James T. Kirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701.[1]
