Construction on the Federation Starship Eagle, a Bonhomme Richard class cruiser (a variant of the Constitution class), was authorized by the Star Fleet Appropriation of Stardate 3220,[1] and commissioned circa 2195. The Eagle, like the rest of the Bonhomme Richard class, served on the front lines during the Four Years War. After the war ended in 2198, the entire class was decommissioned and destroyed in weapons testing as part of Star Fleet's postwar demilitarization.[2]
