The Federation Starship Yamato, a Constitution class cruiser, was commissioned on Reference Stardate 1/9903 (March 2199), and on Reference Stardate 2/0311 (November 2203) was refit to Mark III specifications.[1] On Reference Stardate 2/13 (2213), Kristine Reardon was offered command of the Yamato, but declined in favor of the U.S.S. Strider NCC-7141.[2]
Reference Stardate 2/1711 (November 2217) saw a major overhaul, to Mark I of the Enterprise class.[1] On Reference Stardate 2/1711.15 (15 November 2273), shortly after the refit, the ship was on patrol near Ayirn in the Klingon Neutral Zone when the system was attacked by vessels from the Klingon battlegroup known as the White Flame.[3] On Reference Stardate 2/1906 (June 2219), the Yamato was transferred to Star Fleet Training Command for use as a training vessel.[1]
