A Mission class courier, the Federation Starship Magnan was outfitted as a diplomatic courier.[1] On Reference Stardate 2/1202 (February 2212)[2] while transporting Ambassador Carlos Rivera on a mission to the Lorealyn system in the Klingon Neutral Zone, the Magnan was intercepted by a Klingon D-7 class battlecruiser, and the ambassador and the crew were temporarily imprisoned.[1]
