The D'deridex class warbird battlecruiser was the foundation of the Romulan Star Empire's forces in the 24th century. Drastically more massive than the T'liss and Dhelan classes, the D'deridex was significantly more resilient and carried firepower comparable to a Federation Galaxy class starship. The D'deridex class was equipped with a Romulan battle cloaking device. This cloaking device could be used in combat, though weapons and shields were inoperative while it was active. The class was powered via a singularity core; the standard D'deridex class featured four forward-facing and three aft-facing weapons emplacements, while the refit models featured an additional aft-facing emplacement.[1]
