During the brief Federation-Klingon War of 2267, Commander Kor was named governor of Organia during the Klingon Empire's occupation of the planet. During the occupation, Starfleet Captain Kirk and Commander Spock — commanding officer and first officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, respectively — were captured, though not immediately identified. Kor's adjutant, an unnamed lieutenant, oversaw the interrogation of Spock, who was subjected to the Klingons' mind sifter. When Kirk and Spock escaped the cell in which the Klingons were holding them, Kor ordered the lieutenant to carry out Special Occupation Order 4: the execution of 200 Organians. Kor later ordered the execution of an additional 200 Organians, but the lieutenant was incapacitated by Kirk and Spock shortly after leaving Kor's office. The occupation and the war both ended with the imposition of the Organian Peace Treaty by the Organians, who were revealed to be an immensely powerful noncorporeal species that had grown tired of the war that had encroached upon their world.[1]
In 2270, Kor led a force to the Murasaki 312 nebula, where unsuspecting Federation ships were lured into a trap and destroyed by the waiting Klingons. The plot was discovered by the U.S.S. Pioneer NCC-1500,[2] which — with the aid of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, commanded by Kor's old nemesis, Captain James T. Kirk — drove off the Klingon forces. As he left, Kor swore vengeance upon both Kirk and the commander of the Pioneer for the defeat.[3]
