Ch'tang class (STO)
Birds-of-Prey were small, fast, and filled a variety of roles for the Klingon Empire. They could be used as scouts, raiders, or patrol ships. The Ch'tang class was named in honor of the I.K.S. Ch'tang, which was commanded by General Martok during his raid on Trelka V in 2375, destroying a Dominion starbase in the attack. The class featured a battle cloaking device, which could more rapidly cloak the ship than a standard cloaking device, including during combat. They were vulnerable when cloaked, but their speed and maneuverability made them hard to hit. The class mounted three forward-facing and two aft-facing weapons emplacements, as well as a subspace jump capability, allowing the ship to make a quick jump through subspace and appear behind its target.[1]
