Engle class (STO)
The Engel class strike wing escort was in service in the mid-23rd century and saw extensive combat during the Federation-Klingon War of 2256-2257.As a strike wing escort, the job of the Engle class was to neutralize threats, so that Starfleet's peaceful vessels could do their jobs unimpeded and in relative safety. The class carried a wing of Class C shuttlecraft to aid in its mission. The class was armed with five forward-facing and two aft-facing weapons emplacements.[1]
