Murf was an amorphous life form of unknown origin, and was named by Rok-Tahk. Murf had an uncanny knack for eating metallic objects of all kinds^[1]—even surviving the detonation of multiple explosive devices it had ingested^[2]—but also for landing on a console and pressing just the right button needed at a given time, apparently at random.^[1]
