Starfleet Captain Anton Schaefer commanded a Malachowski class ship that was assigned as a training vessel at Starfleet Academy in 2256. Schaefer, who was of Australian heritage, had an easygoing manner and once joked about assigning one of his cadets as a bilge officer.[1]
