Captain Dougherty was the commanding officer of the Pioneer class frigate U.S.S. Myrmidon. The ship was overrun by neural parasites from Deep Space Station K-13 in 2270, but Dougherty and the rest of the crew were saved by the U.S.S. Pioneer NCC-1500.[1]
