Kelvar Garth[1] was a renowned Star Fleet Captain.[2] He commanded several ships over the course of his career, including the U.S.S. Xenophon at the outset of the Four Years War.[3] After he suffered a near-fatal accident, the natives of Antos IV taught him the secret of their cellular metamorphosis in order to save his life. The experience drove Garth insane, however, and his crew relieved him of duty when he ordered them to fire upon the planet and kill the Antosians. He was committed to the asylum on Elba II, and was eventually cured of his insanity on Stardate 5718.3 after briefly attempting to escape from the facility.[2]
