Chimerium was an extremely rare and valuable substance, and was found in crystalline deposits. The Diviner enslaved thousands to mine chimerium, as both a trading commodity as well as a cover for his search for the U.S.S. Protostar NX-76884.[1] Chimerium was needed[2] to generate cloaking fields.[3]
