The Wyntara Mas Control Center on Bajor was first put into operation not long before the Occupation, and it was reopened after the Occupation ended, which required a great deal of updating. It functioned effectively for three years, until construction was complete on a new planetary operations center. The walls, floor, and roof were constructed with a layer of kelbonite, which naturally interfered with transporters, and it also had a defensive shield grid. In 2383, following the destruction of Deep Space 9, the center was once again called into service as a temporary home for the station's operations until a new station could be constructed.[1]
