Lieutenant Commander Leonard Konigsburg commanded the Saladin class destroyer U.S.S. Saladin NCC-500 until c.2203, when he was succeeded by Commander James T. Kirk. Konigsburg transferred from the Saladin to the U.S.S. Rigil Kentaurus NCC-1735, where he served as first officer. Konigsburg was described as "a heavy man, muscled and slow, but his mind was as quick as a cat."[1]
