Poison was a toxic substance that could kill or seriously injure a person or other living being. Gary Mitchell once took a poisoned dart on Dimorus meant for James T. Kirk, saving Kirk's life and nearly dying as a result.[1] The Borgia plant had berries that were poisonous to Humans.[2]
