Some concepts were timeless, and the Bird of Prey was one such concept. The core was elegant in its simplicity — a ship that could appear anywhere, accomplish its goal, and quickly vanish. This trended it toward many of the same directions — a lightweight, highly mobile ship with heavy guns and powerful stealth systems, and a need for flexibility to adapt to the specific missions at hand. The M'Chla class Bird of Prey was no different in its goals than the 22nd century Bird of Prey design that had inspired it, but it was all the more fearsome with all the improvements that time and alliances brought to it.[1] The M'Chla class was in widespread use in the mid-23rd Century.[2]
