SFU Timeline
(Star Fleet Universe Games)

Originally composed only of the Kzinti Homeworlds and a number of nearby habitable systems, the Hegemony expanded to control several planets with native sentient races, but didn't allow those subject races to leave their planets, which had no spacefaring capability of their own and trade only with the Kzinti and the occasional offworld smugglers. Eventually, the Kzinti signed a treaty with the Federation in Y166, despite many years of conflicts, to counter the Klingons' aggressive expansion into their territories.[1]

The Kzinti found themselves embroiled in a war with the Lyrans, a distantly related species, from Y48-Y56. The Lyrans were fighting against the Klingons, and stumbled upon Kzinti space while attempting to circumvent Klingon forces.[2]

Bordering both the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets, the Kzinti and Klingons were at war with one another almost as soon as they met,[3] with the First Klingon-Kzinti War spanning Y50-Y82.[1] The Kzinti initially believed that the Klingon belligerents were allied with the Lyrans. The Kzinti began to implement tactical warp drive in Y78, in response to the Klingons doing the same.[2]

The first known contact between the Kzinti and the Carnivons occurred in Y55. A year later, as the Kzinti-Lyran War ended, the canine-like Carnivons began to attack both of the felinoid species, taking advantage of their war-weary forces in the region.[2]

The First Federation-Kzinti War erupted in Y88, following the Kzinti's first encounter with the United Federation of Planets, and the conflict lasted until Y92. Tensions rose again a decade later when the Federation declared a formal, nearly-spherical border extending 4750 parsecs from that nation's Primary Member Zone, which impacted parts of Kzinti and Klingon territories.[2]

The Kzinti, having lost their first conflict against the Klingons, soon entered into a Second War from Y103-Y106, regaining the planets lost in the previous conflict.[1] After driving the Carnivons out of both of their territories, the Second Kzinti-Lyran War was waged from Y109-Y114, sparked by a Lyran exploration ship discovered in Kzinti territory, scouting for potential colony sites. Soon thereafter, the Kzinti fought a brief civil war as the Usurper attempted to overthrow the Patriarch in Y116, but was driven to flee to the WYN Cluster instead.[2]

A Third Klingon-Kzinti War raged from Y123-Y131, to inconclusive results.[1] Meanwhile, from Y125-Y131, the Third Kzinti-Lyran War occurred after the Lyrans attacked, hoping to take advantage of Kzinti patrols thinned out due to the war with the Klingons.[2] The Fourth Klingon-Kzinti War was fought from Y158-Y162, which again ended inconclusively.[1]

The Kzinti signed a treaty with the Federation in Y166, despite many years of conflicts, to counter the Klingons' aggressive expansion into their territories.[1]
