Bribery was the act of offering something in order to influence someone to act improperly in favor of the giver. When Captain Kirk suggested that Dr. McCoy present his former love interest Nancy Crater with a bouquet of "flowers," McCoy asked his friend, "Is that how you get girls to like you, bribery?"[1]
