Dalin Zivan Slaine, a Cardassian female, served aboard Deep Space 9 as part of an officer exchange program between the Khitomer Accords nations for several months prior to the station's destruction in 2383. Afterward, she continued to serve under Captain Ro Laren at the Wyntara Mas Control Center, which was converted into a makeshift operations center while a replacement station was constructed.
