Amina Ramsey studied at Starfleet Academy with Beckett Mariner. By 2380, Ramsey was a now a captain and commanding officer of the U.S.S. Oakland. On Stardate 57752.6, Ramsey took temporary command of the U.S.S. Cerritos NCC-75567, while that ship's captain, first officer, and chief of security were on a confidential assignment to assist a Pisepian agricultural colony. She was reunited with Mariner, only to discover that her once-hard-driving friend was still an ensign and showed little motivation for advancing in rank or position.[1]
