The Ptolemy class tug was authorized for production on Stardate 0965. Ptolemy class tugs were capable of towing a wide variety of standardized transport containers, including the Mark I, for liquids; the Mark II, for dry bulk products; the Mark III, for refrigerated goods; the Mark IV, for people, effectively transforming the Ptolemy class vessel into a starliner; and the Mark V, for other bulk products.[1]
