The Federation Starship Castinian was a Larson class destroyer. Commissioned in June 2248, the Castinian was was refit to the Larson class Mark II specifications in January 2257, giving it more powerful phasers and an additional torpedo launcher. July 2269 saw another refit, this time to the Mark VI configuration; in December 2272, the Castinian was given a final refit to the Mark VII configuration. By June 2281, the Castinian was still in active service.[1]
