Lieutenant Boma was an astrophysicist assigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 in 2267. On Stardate 2821.5, he was part of a science team sent out in the Shuttlecraft Galileo NCC-1701/7 to study Murasaki 312. The shuttle crashed on Taurus II, however, and Boma became highly agitated and even insubordinate toward Commander Spock, demanding that they bury their fallen comrades almost immediately after coming under attack by the planet's giant natives, to the point that both Lieutenant Commander Scott and Dr. McCoy reprimanded Boma for his behavior.[1]
