Captain Jeanette Durant commanded the Nimitz class vessel U.S.S. Ticonderoga NCC-1650 in 2256. In June of that year, the Ticonderoga was joined by the U.S.S. Sebrova NCC-1309 and a Malachowski class vessel crewed by cadets in the Arucanis Arm. All three vessels were set upon by Klingon forces led by J'Ula of House Mo'Kai, who intended to use the Arucanis Arm as a staging ground for an attack on the Federation's dilithium mine on Corvan II, and the Ticonderoga was heavily damaged in the attack, and Durant was injured.[1] The Ticonderoga and Sebrova engaged the Klingon forces long enough to delay them while the cadet vessel traveled to Corvan II to warn the colonists, then retreated to Corvan II when the situation in the Arucanis Arm became "untenable," according to the Sebrova's Captain Thy'kir Shran.[2] Durant and the Ticonderoga later participated in the defense of Starbase 1 from an attack by forces led by J'Ula.[3]
