- A transport vessel crashes on Thasus. Three-year-old Charlie Evans is the only survivor. He is given extraordinary powers by the noncorporeal Thasians in order to help him survive.[1]
- James T. Kirk's relationship with Ruth ends.[2] She is likely the "blonde lab technician" whose relationship with him was masterminded by Gary Mitchell.[3]
