This pleasant world was named for the distinctive color of its sunsets, due to its cooler, K-Type sun, Beta Rigalia. Amber was important as a major supplier of hybrid grains to many portions of the Federation. Though not extensively mined, the planet had many easily accessible copper deposits, making it a valuable trading center. Amberites permitted offworlders to mine copper in exchange for offworld goods and services. A Star Fleet cadet training center was also located on the planet.[1]
