- RSD 1/85: The Romulan F-2 "Nestar" class (Type 1) repair facility enters service.[1]
- RSD 1/85: The University class U.S.S. Dewey is retired from service.[2]
- RSD 1/85: An Orion raider crewman finds signs of dilithium deposits in the Selka asteroid belt. Mining operations follow one year later.[3]

- RSD 1/8510: Star Fleet's Ptolemy class transport enters service, but limited appropriations permit the construction of only 15.[4][5]
December
- RSD 1/8512: Star Fleet's Hermes class scout becomes operational, but Star Fleet's increasing emphasis on larger survey vessels, combined with manufacturing delays, results in curtailed production. A total of 15 are built.[4][5]
