Horatius system (FASA)
The Horatius system, also known as NGC-434, was named after Horatius, a legendary Roman hero from ancient Earth. The system lay outside Federation space; the nearest starbase was Starbase 12, and it was also near Klingon territory,[1] likely placing it within the Klingon Neutral Zone between the Triangle and the Orion Colonies.[2] The system had three Class M planets, and during the 22nd century, all three were colonized by Humans seeking to leave the Federation and Earth behind. Neolithia was settled by a group that sought to completely abandon technology, and return to a Stone Age state of existence. Mythra was settled by religious extremists, who founded a theocratic state. Bavarya was settled by a group that embraced cloning, slavery, and fascism. In 2209, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 responded to a distress call from the system, making contact with the colonies for the first time since they were founded.[1]
