- June 3: The first two components of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, the Deck 10 computer core elliptical compression member and the starboard main longitudinal compression bulkhead, are gamma-welded during a brief ceremony at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards assembly site, in synchronous orbit 16,625km above the surface of Mars.[1]

- An ejectable bridge module is docked to the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D. A minimum flight test program crew completes preliminary training aboard ship, and the Enterprise is launched from its dock on maneuvering thrusters.[1]

- The flight test crew continues developmental shakedown trials of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D in Mars space, and the Enterprise is at last declared deep-spaceworthy and warp-capable.[1]
