Myriad Universes: World War II
The Second World War was a global conflict on Earth that lasted from 1939 through 1945. The belligerent nations, an alliance known as the Axis Powers, consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan, who were opposed by the Allied Powers, consisting of the United Kingdom, France, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the Republic of China, and, after 1941, the United States of America.[1] The conflict was of immense historical significance, resulting in an estimate 11 million dead,[2] and any alteration of its outcome would prove disastrous to the formation of the United Federation of Planets.[3]
