A gymnasium was a dedicated space for exercise and sports. Captain Kirk attempted to teach Charlie Evans social skills by taking him to the gymnasium aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701. Instead, Kirk learned about the incredible mental abilities that had been bestowed upon him by the Thasians when he made a crewmember disappear.^[1]
