psychology
From Trekipedia
Psychology was the study of the mind and associated mental disorders. Psychiatry was a related field of study. Dr. Elizabeth Dehner was a trained psychiatrist,[1] while Dr. Leonard McCoy, in addition to being a trained surgeon and general medical practitioner, was an expert in psychology.[2] A psychotricorder was designed to be used for psychological and psychiatric examinations, such as when Lieutenant Commander Montgomery Scott was a suspect in a series of brutal murders on Argelius II.[3]
