Of the 140 Babcock class frigates commissioned by June 2281, 84 Mark IIs and all 48 Mark Vs remained in active service. One Mark II was in use by Starfleet Training Command, six Mark IIs had been destroyed, and one Mark II was listed as missing. Babcock class frigates were constructed at the Morena and Merak shipyards at a combined rate of 16 per year.[1]
