- Stardate Unknown: Situated near the Federation's border with the Romulan Empire, Carina VII is an idyllic world with lush forests, a pleasant climate, and abundant resources. The crew quickly discovers the tetryon emissions are actually a form of communication employed by the insectoids. The crew will have to decide how the Prime Directive applies as another warp capable species enters the situation.[3]

The Runabout Susquehanna was investigating an unusual alien signal that originated from the nebula when all contact was lost. - Stardate 48326.3 (29 April): The U.S.S. Nightingale, a Nova class Federation science vessel, accidentally crosses into the Romulan Neutral Zone, and must win a battle of wits with a Romulan captain.[5]
- Stardate 48326.3 (29 April): A Starfleet vessel is dispatched to the Federation protectorate world of Tolen IV to help mediate a disagreement between two factions. A reception aboard the ship is interrupted by an assassination attempt and a separatist attack, orchestrated by Pala Teik, a Ferengi merchant.[6]
