A clear alcoholic beverage. Doctor Boyce once served a martini to Captain Christopher Pike. When Pike heard the ice hitting the glass of the beaker that Boyce served the drink in, he asked, "What the devil are you putting in there, ice?" to which Boyce replied, "Who wants a warm martini?"[1]
