The Westmoreland was a small, four-person civilian scouting vessel for the United Federation of Planets. The ship was so small that it lacked even artificial gravity. In 2208, the Westmoreland was found adrift, the crew dead. An investigation determined that the crew succumbed to cafard, which drove them mad and caused them to kill one another.[1]
