The Federation Starship Saber[1] was the prototype[2] of the Saber class light cruiser.[3]

Notes and References

  1. Although Star Trek: Fact Files gave the ship's registry as NCC-61947, this was actually the registry of the U.S.S. Yeager NCC-61947, chosen in reference to the date of Yeager's first supersonic flight. Alternately, Star Trek Online gave a registry of NCC-61900 for the ship, but this has not been reflected in other media.
  2. Star Trek: Fact Files Issue 212, File 31, Card 27: "Saber class Starships." GE Fabbri. 2001.
